Content lifecycle
What it's for
Classifies each page as Fresh, Maturing, Aging or Stale from its age, edit history and search trend — and flags which pages are worth refreshing now (decaying but still getting impressions).
When to use it
- To plan a content-refresh calendar with priorities.
- To stop high-value pages from quietly decaying.
How to use it
- Project → «Lifecycle».
- Sort by refresh priority; start with «Stale + still has impressions».
- Refresh, then mark/track the page.
Reading your results
For each output: is it good, does it need improvement, or is it bad — and exactly what to do next.
Lifecycle stage
Good
Fresh/Maturing: leave it to perform.
Needs improvement
Aging with a downward trend: schedule a refresh.
Bad
Stale yet still getting impressions: refresh now — best ROI.
What to do next
Update facts/year, expand thin sections, refresh the title/meta, and re-publish; re-check the trend after a few weeks.
Next steps
- Pair a refresh with a Brief for the page's main query.
- Re-crawl and watch Keywords/Search performance for recovery.
