Content & internal linking
Content audit
What it's for
Scans your pages for thin content, near-duplicates and pages that have decayed in search, so you know what to improve, consolidate or prune.
When to use it
- Quarterly content reviews and pre-migration clean-ups.
- When a section of the site underperforms.
How to use it
- Project → «Content».
- Review the thin and duplicate clusters.
- Decide per page: improve, merge, or remove.
Reading your results
For each output: is it good, does it need improvement, or is it bad — and exactly what to do next.
Content depth
Good
Meets the topic's expected depth: fine.
Needs improvement
Somewhat thin vs the target word count: expand.
Bad
Very thin: little chance to rank — rewrite or consolidate.
What to do next
Use a Brief to expand thin pages with the subtopics competitors cover; merge true duplicates into one canonical page.
Duplicate clusters
Good
None: clean topical structure.
Needs improvement
A few near-duplicates: pick a canonical, differentiate the rest.
Bad
Many overlapping pages: keyword cannibalization hurting all of them.
What to do next
Consolidate to the strongest URL, 301 the rest, and update internal links to point at the survivor.
Next steps
- Generate Briefs for the pages worth expanding.
- Use Lifecycle to schedule refreshes; Link suggestions to re-wire internal links.
